The Arizona College Prep Knights suffered their closest loss yet this season on Tuesday. They fell just short of Combs by a score of 64-61. Arizona College Prep was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Combs apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played last Monday.
Despite the loss, Arizona College Prep still got an impressive performance from Asher Perez, who scored 26 points along with three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Perez has scored all season. Fauster Johnson was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with three steals and two blocks.
Johnathon Byaus was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 16 points and 12 rebounds for Combs. Byaus has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last six times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jae Lujan, who scored 15 points along with five rebounds.
This is the second loss in a row for Arizona College Prep and nudges their season record down to 16-5. As for Combs, their win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-7.
Arizona College Prep will take on American Leadership Academy - Gilbert North at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Combs, they will head out on the road to take on American Leadership Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
