Edison hasn't had much luck against Sanger recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Tigers will face off against the Apaches at 5:30 p.m. Edison has given up an average of 8.2 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Edison saw some tournament action on Tuesday. They came up short against Orcutt Academy, falling 16-4.
Sanger came out on top against Lemoore on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run first inning. The Apaches narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Tigers 6-5. The Apaches haven't had any issues with the Tigers recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.
Emma Hernandez made a splash while hitting and pitching. She struck out six batters over five innings while giving up three earned runs off ten hits (and not a single walk). She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one walk in five consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.
In other pitching news, Maddi Arganda looked comfortable as she pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. What's more, she posted four strikeouts, the most she's had since back in March.
Back at the plate, Aundrea Orosco was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high. Samantha Santibanes was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI.
Sanger hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in four consecutive contests.
Edison's loss dropped their record down to 6-10. As for Sanger, their record now sits at 11-7.
Edison skirted past Sanger 3-2 in their previous meeting back in May of 2025. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Tigers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
