Christian Liberty lost against the Elgin Academy Hilltoppers back in January of 2020, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. Christian Liberty suffered a rough 71-49 defeat at the hands of Elgin Academy. Christian Liberty has struggled against Elgin Academy recently, as their matchup on Monday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Elgin Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Rahul Gowda, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten assists. The contest was Gowda's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Chris Tacher, who scored 18 points along with five rebounds.
Christian Liberty's defeat was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 2-2. As for Elgin Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 4-6.
Christian Liberty will head out on the road to face off against Westlake Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Elgin Academy, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Illinois Math & Science Academy at 6:00 p.m.
