Sunbelt recap October 1, 2013
Paloma Valley extended the longest winning streak in Sunbelt this week by beating Temecula Valley, 49-34. The win marks fifth in a row for the the Wildcats.
Temescal Canyon scaled the state rankings by moving to 331 from 385 this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Titans climbed the ranks as a result of defeating West Valley 49-22.
Brent Boehm threw for 203 yards and 3 touchdowns. He was 15-26 with 2 interceptions.
Michael Erim was a force in the backfield as Temescal Canyon beat the Mustangs.
Michael Valencia was the best receiver in the league this week as Paloma Valley defeated the Golden Bears. Valencia racked up 3 receptions for 73 yards. Elliott Smith helped Paloma Valley's passing attack out by catching 4 balls for 45 yards.
Thanks to the talents of Boehm and Demarco Prewitt, Bert Esposito's team has been able to do all sorts of things on offense. Boehm is tops in the league in passing with 950 yards, while Prewitt has rushed for 546 yards this season. Perris's Kenneth Paterson, leads the league in receiving yards with 331 on 10 catches.
Lakeside fell to Murrieta Mesa 49-7 last week, the largest margin of any game.
