The Fremont Tigers are taking a road trip to challenge the Lincoln Southeast Knights at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Having struggled with four defeats in a row, Fremont turned things around against Burke on Monday. They put the hurt on the Bulldogs with a sharp 8-0 win.
Not much got past Garrett Rau, who gave up just three hits to keep Burke off the board. Rau also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Fremont is 2-1 when he allows at most three earned runs, but 4-9 otherwise.

At the plate, Brooks Eyler was excellent, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Jayden Stillman was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.
Meanwhile, Lincoln Southeast sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 9-7 victory over Westview on Monday.
Ryan Johnson made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out seven batters over 3.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off four hits. Johnson was also big at the plate, earning two runs and two stolen bases.
Johnson wasn't the only one making solid contact as seven players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Jayden Kirk, who went 3-for-5 with one home run, three runs, and one double. Another was Dylan Etherton, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one RBI.
Lincoln Southeast kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Fremont's record now sits at 6-10. As for Lincoln Southeast, their win ended a six-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-10.
Fremont couldn't quite get it done against Lincoln Southeast in their previous meeting last Saturday as they fell 6-3. Can the Tigers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
