Pocahontas County has struggled against Greenbrier West recently, as their game on Friday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Pocahontas County lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Dillon Dunz, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 17 rebounds. Dunz has been hot recently, having posted two or more blocks the last six times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Griffin Taylor, who scored six points along with two steals.
Pocahontas County dropped their record down to 0-10 with that defeat, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Greenbrier West, their victory ended a eight-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 6-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pocahontas County will square off against Midland Trail at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Greenbrier West's road trip will continue as they head out to face James Monroe at 7:15 p.m. on January 30th. James Monroe is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
