The Arthur-Okaw Christian Conquering Riders will be home for the holidays to greet the Rantoul Eagles at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Arthur-Okaw Christian is coming into the contest hot, having won their last six games.
Arthur-Okaw Christian has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matchups by 25 points or more this season. They blew past Calvary Christian Academy 55-30. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 34-10.
It was another big night for Addisyn Erwin, who scored 25 points along with eight rebounds and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Brileigh Mast, who scored six points.
Rantoul can finally bid farewell to their seven-game losing streak thanks to their game on Thursday. They took down Paxton-Buckley-Loda 44-30. That 44-30 margin sets a new team best for Rantoul this season.
Rantoul can attribute much of their success to Joselyn Espinoza, who scored 15 points along with three steals, and Josie Roseman, who scored 12 points along with five steals. That makes it six consecutive games in which Roseman has scored at least 25% of Rantoul's points. Another player making a difference was Jasmine Mccullough, who scored four points along with three steals and three blocks.
Arthur-Okaw Christian has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-2 record this season. As for Rantoul, their win ended a eight-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-9.
Monday's game is shaping up to be a scrappy match: Arthur-Okaw Christian have been smashing the glass this season, having only averaged 23.7 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Rantoul struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 17.3 rebounds per game. Given Arthur-Okaw Christian's sizeable advantage in that area, Rantoul will need to find a way to close that gap.
