If the Worthing Colts were feeling good off their 73-29 takedown of the Furr Brahmans last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Worthing took a 62-53 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Eagles on Friday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Worthing of the 71-48 defeat they experienced in the two teams' previous head-to-head fixture back in January.
Leading Washington to victory were Danaya Pope and Shaniece Powell. Pope scored 20 points, while Powell scored 19 points. Pope is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 16 or more in the last nine games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Chloe Cleare, who scored seven points.
Worthing now has a losing record at 12-13. As for Washington, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 14 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 20-9 record this season.
Worthing will head out on the road to square off against the Lions at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Yates has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 344 points over their last five games. As for Washington, they will take on the Spartans at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Scarborough comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 22 points in their last four games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
