The ThunderRidge Grizzlies are taking a road trip to face off against the Chaparral Wolverines at 4:15 p.m. on Friday. ThunderRidge is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.7 runs per game this season.
ThunderRidge lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Legend, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Wednesday's game. The Grizzlies were the clear victors by a 13-5 margin over the Titans on Wednesday. The win was some much needed relief for the Grizzlies as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.
Hudson Fagerholt made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing five innings while giving up four earned runs off four hits. Fagerholt was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with one run and one RBI.
In other batting news, Jacob Bradley was excellent, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with two runs and two RBI. Tanner Rhodes was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.
ThunderRidge always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .564. They are 3-1 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Chaparral came out on top against Highlands Ranch on Monday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run fifth inning. The Wolverines walked away with an 8-4 victory over the Falcons. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since May 6, 2022, but that streak is no more.
Chaparral also got a great performance from Kayne Morris as he struck out ten batters over 6.1 innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off ten hits (and not a single walk). Those ten strikeouts gave Morris a new career-high.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Carson Munroe, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. That home run marked the first that he has launched this season. Another player making a difference was Tommy Humphrey, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double.
Chaparral's record now sits at 13-6. As for ThunderRidge, their win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-6 and their overall record up to 8-10.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Friday. ThunderRidge hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 1.1 home runs per game. However, it's not like Chaparral struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 0.5 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
ThunderRidge suffered a grim 13-3 defeat to Chaparral in their previous matchup back in May of 2025. Can the Grizzlies avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
