Concord has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will challenge the Northwest Cabarrus Trojans at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Concord focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up eight on Friday.
Concord pushed their score all the way to 59, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell to Carson 65-59.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Jeremiah Howard, who scored 11 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. He has been hot recently, having posted two or more blocks the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Jadah Freeman, who scored 11 points along with five assists.
Meanwhile, Northwest Cabarrus put the finishing touches on their fifth blowout victory of the season on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat South Rowan 85-49 at home. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win Northwest Cabarrus has posted since December 2, 2023.
Concord's defeat ended a seven-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-7. As for Northwest Cabarrus, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-6.
Concord didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Northwest Cabarrus in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, but they still walked away with a 68-63 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Concord since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
