Oakdale barely beat Marksville the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Warriors never let the Tigers get on the board and left with a 15-0 win on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Warriors, who have now won ten contests by six runs or more so far this season.
Ainslie Willis was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out six over four innings pitched. Willis was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one triple and one run. That triple marked the first that she hit this season.
In other batting news, Oakdale got a massive performance out of Kaylee Bradley, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run and three runs. Oakdale kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Marksville only managed one hit.
Oakdale has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-7-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.6 runs on average over those games. As for Marksville, they dropped their record down to 10-9 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Oakdale will head out to take on Sacred Heart at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Trojans will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something the Warriors surely won't give up without a fight. As for Marksville, they are taking a road trip to challenge Tioga at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
