Fort Defiance has gone 8-2 against Buffalo Gap recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Indians are taking a road trip to take on the Bison at 5:30 p.m. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Fort Defiance has struggled recently with seven defeats in a row, while Buffalo Gap will arrive with four straight victories.

Fort Defiance had taken Staunton down for three straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Thursday. The Indians fell just short of the Storm by a score of 6-5.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Buffalo Gap). They blew past Stonewall Jackson 17-4 on Wednesday. The Bison might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three matchups by eight runs or more this season.

Cal Loan was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out seven batters over four innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. Loan was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.

In other batting news, Buffalo Gap let Dalton Coffey and Cooper Simmons run wild. Coffey went 2-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and one stolen base, while Simmons scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. Buffalo Gap is 3-1 when Simmons posts two or more runs, but 2-3 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Grayson McCall, who scored two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Buffalo Gap always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .561. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Fort Defiance's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Buffalo Gap, they now have a winning record of 5-4.

Fort Defiance was able to grind out a solid win over Buffalo Gap in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, winning 8-3. Do the Indians have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bison turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
