Baseball Recap: New Covenant Academy Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

New Covenant Academy waltzed into their game on Monday with two straight wins... but they left with three. Everything went their way against the Greenwood Blue Jays as they made off with a 7-1 victory. The Warriors have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Blue Jays, too.

New Covenant Academy saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Caleb Cagle, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Cagle is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last five games he's played. Landon Link was another, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run.

New Covenant Academy pushed their record up to 11-9 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.7 runs over those games. As for Greenwood, their loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-10.

Looking ahead, New Covenant Academy will welcome Hartville at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Greenwood, they are taking a road trip to square off against Billings at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
