Union Springs got themselves on the board against Groton on Friday, but Groton never followed suit. They blew past the Red Hawks 23-0. Considering the Wolves have won nine contests by more than five  runs this season, Friday's  blowout was nothing new.
 Paityn Delaney was a  major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she  kept things locked down with   no  earned runs or hits while striking out ten over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't  tossed less than eight  strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box,  going a perfect 5-for-5 with two  RBI and one  double.
 In other batting news,  Abbi Tracy and  Ella Daugherty did most of the damage at the plate:  Tracy  went 3-for-4 with one  home run, three  runs,  and four  RBI, while  Daugherty  got on base  in four of her five plate appearances with five  runs, two  stolen bases,  and one  RBI.  Taylor Bergerstock was another key player,  going 2-for-3 with three  RBI, one  stolen base,  and one  run.
 Union Springs was getting hits left and right  and  finished the game having  posted a batting average of .541. That's the best  batting average they've posted all season.
Union Springs pushed their record up to 10-0 with the  win, which was their ninth straight  on the road dating back to last season. The  road  victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Groton,  they are  on  a  ten-game losing streak  (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.
 Both  squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Union Springs will welcome Tioga  at 4:30  p.m.  on Monday. As for Groton, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Marathon  at 4:30  p.m.  on Monday.
