The Montgomery Red Raiders will challenge the Line Mountain Eagles at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Montgomery's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs in their last six matches.
Montgomery came out on top against Sullivan County on Wednesday thanks in part to the team's impressive six-run first inning. The Red Raiders were the clear victors by a 12-2 margin over the Griffins. Considering the Red Raiders have won six contests by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Ava Hartman made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing five innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.
In other batting news, Montgomery got a big performance out of Madisyn Miller, who went 3-for-4 with two runs and one RBI. Chloe Gordner was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs and two RBI.
Montgomery kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in May of 2024.
Meanwhile, Line Mountain was able to grind out a solid victory over Newport on Wednesday, taking the game 9-5. That looming 9-5 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Eagles yet this season.
Like Montgomery, Line Mountain also got a great game from a two-way player: Madylinn Grindstaff. She struck out nine batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off seven hits (and only one walk). Grindstaff was also big at the plate, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Koera Leitzel was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one triple and one run. That triple was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Mateyah Teter, who earned two RBI and one run.
Montgomery pushed their record up to 7-0 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.5 runs on average over those games. As for Line Mountain, they now have a winning record of 6-5.
Line Mountain's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Montgomery has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .571. It's a different story for Line Mountain, though, as they've only averaged .356. Will they be able to contain Montgomery's hitters?
