Football Recap: Camden County Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Camden County extended their winning streak to three on Friday, bumping them up to 3-0. They enjoyed a cozy 32-13 victory over the West Broward Bobcats. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Wildcats also won the last time the pair played back in August of 2024.

William Jackson was nothing short of spectacular: he threw for 212 yards and a pair of touchdowns while completing 78.6% of his passes, and also punched in one TD on the ground. 86 of Jackson's passing yards were hauled in by Sean Green, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.

Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Camden County proved: they limited West Broward to a paltry 2.6 yards per carry. The team can thank Kingston Melton for the heroic effort on defense: he. Camden County didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 6.1.

Camden County's defense didn't let Brandin Mincy., get away unscathed either: they got into the backfield for three sacks. The team can thank two different players for their defensive prowess: Melton and Xavier Brown, who each picked up one sack apiece. Melton was another major factor on D, picking up a sack, making 11 total tackles (3.0 for loss), and defending one pass.

As for West Broward, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. While losing is never fun, they can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' football rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 100th in Florida, while Camden County is ranked 26th in Georgia).

Despite the loss, West Broward still got an impressive performance from Mincy, who threw for 224 yards and two touchdowns.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Camden County will welcome Ribault at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for West Broward, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Plantation at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
