Brunswick has gone 8-2 against Strongsville recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Blue Devils will venture away from home to face off against the Mustangs at 5:00 p.m. Brunswick will be strutting in after a victory while Strongsville will be coming in after a loss.
Brunswick's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They blew past Shaker Heights 20-0. The Blue Devils haven't had any issues with the Red Raiders recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.
Not much got past Gabby Diligente, who gave up just three hits and racked up 15 Ks to keep Shaker Heights off the board.
On the hitting side, Addison Compton was incredible, going 4-for-6 with four runs, two triples, and four RBI. Another player making a difference was Giovanna Diligente, who scored four runs while going 4-for-6.
Compton wasn't the only one making solid contact: Brunswick kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 25 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits every time they've taken the field this season.
Meanwhile, Monday just wasn't the day for Strongsville's offense. They fell 3-0 to Mentor on Monday. The Mustangs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Strongsville's defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 4-2. As for Brunswick, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Strongsville's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Brunswick has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .437. It's a different story for Strongsville, though, as they've only averaged .321. Will they be able to contain Brunswick's hitters?
Everything went Brunswick's way against Strongsville in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, as Brunswick made off with an 8-0 victory. Do the Blue Devils have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Mustangs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
