For the first time this season, Williams Field will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They will challenge the Highland Hawks at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Williams Field's pitching crew has only allowed 3.9 runs per game this season, so Highland's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Williams Field is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Arizona's top teams: Hamilton, who was ranked eighth at the time (Williams Field was ranked 20th). Williams Field came out on top in a nail-biter against Hamilton on Friday, sneaking past 4-3.

Williams Field got a great performance from Carson Huber as he tossed 5.2 innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits. What's more, Huber posted four strikeouts, the most he's had over his last seven games.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Malcom Harrison, who went 2-for-3 with one triple and two RBI. That's the most hits he has posted over his last 13 matches. Another player making a difference was Asher Landry, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.
Meanwhile, it was a Battle of the Birds when Highland duked it out with Highlands Ranch on Saturday. Highland was the clear victor by a 10-2 margin over Highlands Ranch. Considering the Hawks have won four contests by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.
Peyton Gill looked comfortable as he struck out six batters over three innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits (and not a single walk).
At the plate, Beau Tarwater was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one triple, and one run. Jake Wesolowski also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.
Highland moved to 6-5 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Williams Field, their record is now 9-4.
Williams Field couldn't quite get it done against Highland in their previous matchup back in March of 2021 as they fell 5-2. Can Williams Field avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
