The Grace Community Cougars on the road again and play against the Grapevine Faith Christian Lions at 6:00 p.m. on January 18th. Grace Community will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 655th, while Grapevine Faith Christian is ranked 172nd).
Grace Community posted their closest win yet this season on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Coram Deo Academy 48-45.
Meanwhile, Grapevine Faith Christian came tearing into Thursday's matchup with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 13.7 points) and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against Chisholm Trail Academy by a score of 49-41.
Grace Community pushed their record up to 12-7 with that victory, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Grapevine Faith Christian, their win bumped their record up to 21-2.
Grace Community was dealt a bruising 79-44 loss at the hands of Grapevine Faith Christian when the teams last played back in February of 2023. Can Grace Community avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
