The Hesperia Christian Patriots will head out on the road to face off against the Valley Christian Academy Lions at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Hesperia Christian's favor is that they have now posted big point totals every time they've taken the field this season.
Last Friday, Hesperia Christian never let their opponents score. They really took it to PAL Academy for the full four quarters, racking up a 48-0 victory at home. Considering Hesperia Christian has won eight contests by more than 20 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Ayden Ortega continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 107 yards and two touchdowns. Ortega was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 57 yards.
Hesperia Christian's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB ten times. Leading the way was Roderick Taylor and his 6.5 sacks.
Meanwhile, after only six points in their last matchup, Valley Christian Academy made sure to put some points up on the board against San Luis Obispo Classical Academy on Saturday. Valley Christian Academy blew past San Luis Obispo Classical Academy 62-22 at home. Considering Valley Christian Academy has won five matchups by more than 29 points this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.
Hesperia Christian's win was their ninth straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 8-1. They've been dominating during the matches in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 43.22 points. As for Valley Christian Academy, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-2.
Hesperia Christian strolled past Valley Christian Academy when the teams last played back in November of 2017 by a score of 44-26. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Valley Christian Academy's Adam Aldana, who rushed for 244 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 8.7 yards per carry. Now that he won't be playing on Friday, will it be that much easier for Hesperia Christian to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
