The Stanwood Spartans will head out on the road to take on the Roosevelt Roughriders at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
Roosevelt will challenge a team with plenty of momentum: Stanwood extended their winning streak to five on Friday. The Spartans put the hurt on Cascade with a sharp 12-1 victory. Surprisingly, this marked the fourth straight game that the away team has come away the victor.

Jemma Lopez was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and one double. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. Reagan Ryan was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-3.
Lopez wasn't the only one making solid contact: Stanwood kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits in four consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Roosevelt posted their closest win since May 24, 2024 on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Seattle Prep, sneaking past 13-11. The Roughriders haven't had any issues with the Panthers recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.
Gretchen Harder made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up a single earned run in five consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3. That stolen base marked the first that she snagged this season.
In other batting news, Pia Regala was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Samantha Wright, who went 1-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base.
Stanwood's win bumped their record up to 8-1. As for Roosevelt, they now have a winning record of 6-5.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. Stanwood has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 5.3 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Roosevelt struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 4.1 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
