It was another big night for Case Vanden Bosch, who rushed for 125 yards and three touchdowns, and also threw for 284 yards and four TDs while completing 89.5% of his passes. What's more, he racked up 168.3 passer rating, the most he's had since back in October of 2024. Devin Fitzgerald also helped out as he racked up 110 receiving yards.
The home team had come away the winner the last seven times Chandler and Hamilton had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Wolves received a blow last Friday as they fell 55-41 to the Huskies. The Wolves were up 14-0 in the first quarter but couldn't hold on to the lead.
Brophy College Prep will have to contain Will Mencl as he made an impact in Chandler's last game. He threw for 238 yards and three touchdowns, and also rushed for 37 yards and a pair of scores. 109 of Mencl's passing yards were hauled in by Jai Jones, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.
While Chandler came up short, they sure didn't make it easy for Hamilton: they limited their QB to completion percentage of just 50%. The team can thank Damir Reagan for the heroic effort on defense: he. Chandler hasn't an opponent to post a completion percentage of 0.39 or higher in three consecutive contests.
Chandler didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Kamari Crawford and Jacob Najor.
Brophy College Prep's win bumped their record up to 7-4. As for Chandler, their defeat was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 8-2.
Friday's game will pit two of the most dominant signal callers against one another: Vanden Bosch and Mencl. Vanden Bosch just won't slow down this season and has thrown 22 touchdowns while averaging 205.3 passing yards per game. Mencl has been a dominant force too and has thrown 31 touchdowns (and and only 4 picks) while averaging 320.9 passing yards per game.
Brophy College Prep was taken down by Chandler 49-0 when the teams last played back in October of 2019. Thankfully for the Broncos, Daveon Hunter (who rushed for 117 yards and three TDs) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
