Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Demopolis). They put the hurt on the Holt Ironmen with a sharp 6-1 victory on Friday. The high-scoring effort was just what the Tigers needed considering they were shutout in their previous game.
Their offense was hitting Holt from everywhere, as five different players booted in a goal. Emery Kelly led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by herself.
Demopolis' win bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Holt, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-4.
Coming up, Demopolis will be playing at home against Brewbaker Tech at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Holt, they will head out on the road to face off against Tarrant at 5:00 p.m. on February 28th.
