Baseball Recap: Trinity Presbyterian Comes Up Short

Trinity Presbyterian fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Calera on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Bulldogs by a score of 4-3.

Trinity Presbyterian saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Land Sharpless, who went 2-for-3 with two runs. Sharpless has become a key player for the Wildcats: the team is 3-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 2-3 otherwise. Mason Hawkins was another, going 2-for-4 with three RBI.

Trinity Presbyterian's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Calera, their victory bumped their record up to 4-1.

Coming up, Trinity Presbyterian will face off against Montgomery Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Calera, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Hugo at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
