Eagle Valley won the last time they faced Battle Mountain and things went their way on Thursday too. The Eagle Valley Devils took down the Battle Mountain Huskies 43-28. Winning may never get old, but the Devils sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.
Eagle Valley got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Addison Mandeville out in front who went 6-for-12 to rack up 15 points along with seven boards and four steals. That's the most rebounds Mandeville has posted since back in February of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Abby Talbot, who scored eight points in addition to ten boards and three steals.
Battle Mountain's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kate Kovacik, who earned five points along with six rebounds and three steals. Kovacik is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Elle Glendining, who had five points and six boards.
Eagle Valley now has a winning record of 12-11. As for Battle Mountain, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-12.
Coming up, Eagle Valley will square off against Regis Groff on Wednesday. Regis Groff will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Eagle Valley surely won't give up without a fight. As for Battle Mountain, they have already played their next matchup, a 61-33 loss against Cedaredge on the 22nd.
