Even though the Smyrna Bulldogs scored an imposing 59 points on Friday, the Stewarts Creek Red Hawks still came out on top. Stewarts Creek took down Smyrna 73-59. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Stewarts Creek.
Ze'keice Mccarver and Jalylle Batey-roberts certainly did their best on Friday to try and avoid the loss. Mccarver scored 16 points along with two steals, while Batey-roberts scored 15 points along with six rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Mccarver has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Tyreque Mccarver, who scored 11 points along with six assists.
Stewarts Creek has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a massive bump to their 8-8 record this season. As for Smyrna, their defeat was their third straight at home, which bumped their record down to 6-11.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Stewarts Creek on the road again on Tuesday and play against Wilson Central at 7:30 p.m. on January 16th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Tennessee (Wilson Central is ranked 191st, while Stewarts Creek is ranked 173rd). As for Smyrna, they will head out on the road to take on Lebanon at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
