The Walton Braves will square off against the Central Jaguars at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Walton hasn't scored more than two runs for four games straight, a trend the squad is eager to reverse.
Walton came into their game on Wednesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 11-2 to Destin.

Landon Rhodes made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole three bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Timmy Busby also deserves some recognition as he stole his first stolen base of the season.
Meanwhile, Central put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They put the hurt on Pensacola Christian Academy with a sharp 14-3 victory. Fans of the Jaguars have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 6+ runs.
Quincy Wilson made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Wilson was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one run.
In other batting news, Shelton Enfinger was excellent, scoring two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Brock Reeves was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.
Central was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .387. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Pensacola Christian Academy only posted a batting average of .192.
Central pushed their record up to 3-0 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Walton, they now have a losing record of 2-3.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Friday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Walton has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.4 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Central struggles in that department as they've been averaging 8.7 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Walton might still be hurting after the 7-0 defeat they got from Central when the teams last played back in March of 2024. Can Walton avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
