The Village Vikings scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They claimed a resounding 75-39 victory over Incarnate Word at home. Village has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 matchups by 21 points or more this season.
Leading Village to victory were Shaniya Williams and Mila Rossini. Williams scored 25 points along with five rebounds and three steals, while Rossini scored 30 points along with eight rebounds and five assists. That makes it four consecutive games in which Rossini has scored at least a third of Village's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Cyra Narahari, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 15 rebounds.
The victory was the third in a row for Village, bringing their record for this year to 19-7. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 33 points. As for Incarnate Word, they bumped their record down to 4-14 with that defeat, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season.
Village won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Antonian Prep at 1:00 p.m. on January 13th. Antonian Prep knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past four contests -- so hopefully Village likes a good challenge. Incarnate Word won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against St. Pius X at 11:00 a.m. on January 13th. St. Pius X is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.
