After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Jefferson, the Bismarck Indians were happy to have found some success on Saturday. They walked away with a 60-50 victory over Potosi. Given Bismarck's advantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 181st, while the Trojans are ranked 419th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Bismarck's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ashley Hawkins, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and 14 rebounds. Hawkins has been hot recently, having posted 16 or more points the last nine times she's played. Halie Dickey was another key contributor, almost dropping a double-double on 14 points and nine rebounds.
Bismarck has been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-5 record this season. As for Potosi, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-16.
Bismarck will head out on the road to face off against the Eagles at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Potosi, they will be playing at home against the Cougars on Wednesday.
