The biggest upset of the week belonged to Forbush, who took down 367th ranked East Wilkes, 34-20. Jordan Sawyers ran for 170 yards and caught two passes for 39 yards in the win.
Starmount extended the longest winning streak in 2A/1A Mountain Valley this week by beating North Wilkes, 40-6. This was the team's eighth consecutive win.
The Falcons' offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Bennett Winsolw threw for 101 and one touchdown and Todd Patterson had 54 yards receiving.
Forbush's Winsolw and Matthew Stanley have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Winsolw has thrown for 643 yards this season, while Stanley, a 6-foot-1 receiver, has 17 catches for 257 yards. Jonathan Cox from Ashe County leads the league in rushing with 881 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Elkin takes on Wilkes Central. At the moment, the Elks are in third, while the Eagles are in second.
Starmount took down the Vikings 40-6 last week, the largest margin of any game.
