Holy Cross' defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Mona Okorie, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 25 rebounds, and Kyara Champagne who scored 20 points along with 5 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Nafi Balde, who scored 3 points along with 11 rebounds.
Holy Cross' loss dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Monsignor Scanlan, their victory bumped their record up to 1-0.
Holy Cross will be playing in front of their home fans against Kennedy Catholic at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Monsignor Scanlan, they will square off against Riverdale Baptist at 7:20 p.m. on Friday. Riverdale Baptist will be coming into the matchup with an undefeated record on the line.
