There's no place like home for The Clark Cougars, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Thursday. They took down Brandeis 29-14 on Thursday. For Clark, this counts as revenge for the 35-28 loss Brandeis walked away with the last time they faced one another back in October of 2022.
Clark's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Armon Gardner led the charge by rushing for 132 yards and two touchdowns. The team also got some help courtesy of Phillip Metzger, who threw for 246 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 11.7 yards per attempt.
Clark's victory was their fourth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 6-4. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 30.8 points per game. As for Brandeis, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-4.
Clark does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Brandeis will be playing at home against Reagan at 7:30 p.m. on November 3rd. Reagan knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past seven games -- so hopefully Brandeis likes a good challenge.
