Electra hasn't had much luck against Windthorst recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Tigers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Trojans at 5:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
It was a proper cat-fight when Electra duked it out with Seymour on Monday. The Tigers lost 25-3 to the Panthers.
Brylee Thaggard and Vanessa Esparza did some serious damage despite the final result: Thaggard went a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases and one run, while Esparza went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run. Keionna Gaines also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.
Meanwhile, Windthorst suffered their biggest loss since March 7, 2025 on Monday. They came up short against Petrolia, falling 19-10. The Trojans haven't had much luck with the Pirates recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.
Chloe Schroeder made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went a perfect 4-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Karissa Fillingam, who went 2-for-5 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double.
Windthorst's defeat dropped their record down to 6-6-1. As for Electra, their loss dropped their record down to 3-6.
Friday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Electra has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .593. However, it's not like Windthorst struggles in that department as they've averaged .466. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Electra might still be hurting after the 17-4 defeat they got from Windthorst in their previous matchup back in April of 2025. Can the Tigers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
