Eastwood has gone 9-1 against Rossford recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Eagles will look to defend their home field against the Bulldogs at 4:45 p.m. The timing is sure in Eastwood's favor as the team sits on four straight wins at home while Rossford has been banged up by eight consecutive losses on the road dating back to last season.
Eastwood's usually-dominant pitching crew will be looking to make up for Monday's struggle, when Liberty Center hitters got past them. The Eagles lost 12-3 to the Tigers on Monday.
Kadyn Donnell was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI. Drew Kachmarik was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Rossford came into Monday's match having lost four straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They never let Port Clinton get on the board and left with a 3-0 win on Monday.
Not much got past Jackson Yerkes, who gave up just four hits and racked up 14 Ks to keep Port Clinton off the board. With that strong performance, Yerkes is now averaging an impressive 5.1 strikeouts per game.
On the hitting side, Landen Scherer was excellent, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI. That RBI marked the first that he has brought in this season.
Rossford's victory bumped their record up to 2-13. As for Eastwood, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-4.
Rossford's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Eastwood hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .313. It's a different story for Rossford, though, as they've only averaged .161. Will they be able to contain Eastwood's hitters?
