Softball Recap: Make It Four in a Row for Random Lake

Random Lake had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 15 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Thursday. They never let the Cedar Grove-Belgium Rockets get on the board and left with a 15-0 win. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 14-0 on Tuesday.

Danika Eberhardt was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in seven consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two runs.

In other batting news, Ava Daggett was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Madison Arndt, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI and one run.

Random Lake always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .741. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .568 or higher in four consecutive contests.

Random Lake's record is now 14-3. As for Cedar Grove-Belgium, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 11 of their last 12 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-14 record this season.

Random Lake is taking a road trip to face off against Mishicot at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Rams' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Indians have averaged an impressive 6.2 runs per game this season. As for Cedar Grove-Belgium, they will take on Omro at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Foxes have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.24 runs per game on average), something the Rockets will no doubt try to take advantage of.
