Durham Academy came out on top against Cary Academy  on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive 11-run first inning. The Cavaliers were the clear victors by  a  16-3 margin over the Chargers. The  win made it back-to-back  victories for the Cavaliers.

That's the most  strikeouts  she has posted since back in March. She was also stellar in the batter's box,  getting on base  in three of her five plate appearances with four  RBI, two  runs,  and one  stolen base.
 In other batting news, Durham Academy got a  massive  performance out of  Whitney Wiles, who  got on base  in four of her five plate appearances with three  runs, one  stolen base,  and two  RBI. That's the most  RBI  Wiles has posted since back in March.  Lillian Dardani was another key player,  getting on base  in three of her four plate appearances with two  runs, one  stolen base,  and one  RBI.
 Durham Academy  hit smart and  finished the game with only one  strikeout. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their  strikeout total in three consecutive  matchups.
The  win  got Durham Academy back to even at 7-7-1. As for Cary Academy, their defeat  ended  a  three-game streak of wins at home  and  dropped them to 5-9.
 Coming up, Durham Academy will host Voyager Academy  at 4:30  p.m.  on Thursday. The Vikings have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.14  runs per game on average), something the Cavaliers will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Cary Academy, they will venture away from home to  square off against GRACE Christian  at 4:00  p.m.  on Thursday. The Chargers will need to watch out since the Eagles have now posted at least ten  runs  in their last 11 contests.
