The American Collegiate Academy Rough Riders were the 63-14 winner over the American Youth Academy Eagles when they last played one another back in January of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. American Collegiate Academy took a 57-53 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Eagles. American Collegiate Academy just can't catch a break and has now endured three losses in a row.
Several Rough Riders players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jeremis Lopez, who scored 17 points along with five steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Lopez has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Zaire Smith, who scored 20 points along with six rebounds and two steals.
American Youth Academy got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Radi Mohammad out in front who scored 20 points. It was the first time this season that Mohammad scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Waleed Khawaja, who scored 15 points.
American Collegiate Academy's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 11-6. As for American Youth Academy, their win ended a six-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-11.
American Collegiate Academy will head out on the road to challenge the Ascenders at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for American Youth Academy, they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against the at 4:30 p.m.
