4A Region III District 20 recap Oct. 9, 2012
The biggest upset of the week belonged to Port Neches-Groves, who took down 304th ranked Port Neches-Groves, 35-7.
Little Cypress-Mauriceville moved up to 235 from 352 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in 4A Region III District 20. The Bears were able to make the jump by beating the Indians 35-7.
Vidor's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Pirates feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Montana Quirante has thrown for 121 yards this season, while Bryce Cooper has two catches for 73 yards. Quirante also leads the league in rushing with 420 yards.
Two highly touted recruits will be in the spotlight when Livingston and Ozen meet this week. The Lions features well-regarded senior Chevoski Collins while the Panthers has Tony Brown, a sought after junior.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Little Cypress-Mauriceville takes on Nederland. Randy Crouch's team is in fifth place, while the Bulldogs are in second place.
The Bears made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 2,089 from 3,275. They were able to move up in the ranks after a 35-7 victory over Port Neches-Groves last week.
