After low-scoring totals in their previous three contests, The Washington Hatchets brought some dynamite into their most recent game. They breezed by West Vigo at home to the tune of 46-7. The result was nothing new for Washington, who have now won three matches by 28 points or more so far this season.
Colton Stowers was the offensive standout of the match as he threw for 193 yards and three touchdowns on only 17 passes. The team also got some help courtesy of Brody Isza, who picked up 71 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
West Vigo's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performance. Perhaps the best among them was Ryan Cobb, who rushed for 109 yards on only 13 carries.
Washington's victory bumped their record up to 3-7. As for West Vigo, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-8.
Washington will look to defend their home field on Friday against Gibson Southern at 7:00 p.m. Gibson Southern knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past six games -- so hopefully Washington likes a good challenge. West Vigo does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
