The Port St. Joe Tiger Sharks will square off against the Marianna Bulldogs at 6:00  p.m.  on Thursday. Port St. Joe will be strutting in after a  win while Marianna will be coming in after a  defeat.
On Tuesday, Port St. Joe narrowly escaped with a  victory as the  team sidled past Rutherford  6-5. The  win made it back-to-back  victories for the Tiger Sharks.
 Jacob Hensley was a major factor no matter where he played. He  struck out seven batters over  four innings while giving up just two earned  (and two unearned) runs off   three  hits. Those seven  strikeouts gave  him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box,  scoring a  run while going 2-for-4.

 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Baylor Partie, who  scored three  runs and  stole three bases while going 2-for-3. The dominant performance gave  him a new career-high in  stolen bases.  Cole Williams was another key player,  scoring two  runs and  stealing two bases while going 2-for-3.
Meanwhile, Marianna scored first but ultimately less than Niceville in their  contest on Monday. They lost  15-2 to the Eagles.
  Parker Willis made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and  got on base  in all three of his plate appearances with one  double and one  RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of  Cody Byrd, who  scored a  run while  getting on base  in all three of his plate appearances.
 Port St. Joe's win bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Marianna, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.
 Port St. Joe was able to grind out a solid  victory over Marianna when the teams last played  back in April of 2024, winning  4-0. Will Port St. Joe repeat their success,  or does  Marianna have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
