The Central Academy Cougars's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their third straight loss. They were dealt a 83-23 defeat at the hands of Piedmont. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Central Academy in their matchups with Piedmont: they've now lost four in a row.
Despite the defeat, Central Academy had strong showings from Drew Butler, who scored eight points along with five rebounds, and Zach Mcdowell, who scored nine points along with two steals.
Central Academy bumped their record down to 3-12 with that loss, which was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Piedmont, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 8-7.
Central Academy won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Forest Hills at 7:30 p.m. on January 16th. Forest Hills has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 619 points over their last nine games. As for Piedmont, they will head out on the road to challenge Parkwood at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Parkwood focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Tuesday.
