Eufaula and Headland are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2017, but likely not for long. The Eufaula Tigers will face off against the Headland Rams at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Eufaula has given up an average of 8.9 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.
Eufaula's last matchup with Wicksburg could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's match on Friday. Eufaula lost 13-2 to Wicksburg. The Tigers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Eufaula saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Zy'Kayla Robinson, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-2. Robinson is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Headland). They put the hurt on Cottonwood with a sharp 19-4 victory on Monday. Considering the Rams have won eight games by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Shaylee Greathouse made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, she gave up only zero earned runs, the fewest she's had over her last four contests. She was also big at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing Three bases. while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. That's the most runs she has posted over her last nine matchups.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Addison Grantham, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with five RBI, three runs, and one triple. That's the most hits she has posted over her last seven games. Harlee Raley was another key player, scoring two runs while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.
Headland always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .818. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
With the win, Headland broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 11-6. As for Eufaula, their loss dropped their record down to 5-12-1.
Tuesday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Eufaula hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .363. However, it's not like Headland struggles in that department as they've averaged .427. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Eufaula couldn't quite get it done against Headland in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 as they fell 5-1. Can Eufaula avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
