The Apalachee Wildcats were the 53-45 winner over the Central Gwinnett Black Knights when they last played one another back in December of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Apalachee was dealt a 70-40 loss at the hands of Central Gwinnett on Friday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Apalachee has scored all season.
Central Gwinnett's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Timothy Smith, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds and three steals. Parker Donaldson was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with six assists.
Apalachee's defeat dropped their record down to 4-9. As for Central Gwinnett, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a massive bump to their 6-6 record this season.
Apalachee will head out on the road to face off against Jackson County at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Jackson County is coming into the game hot, having won their last four games. As for Central Gwinnett, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Mill Creek at 7:30 a.m.
