The Amesbury Redhawks lost against the Georgetown Royals back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Amesbury fell to the Royals 40-36. Amesbury has not had much luck with the Royals recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Despite the defeat, Amesbury saw an underclassman step up: Celia Tavares scored ten points.
Amesbury has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-11 record this season. As for Georgetown, they pushed their record up to 3-0 with that win, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season.
Amesbury will square off against the at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Georgetown does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
