The Covenant Day Lions scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They blew past Cannon 78-52. The win was familiar territory for Covenant Day who now have five in a row.
Michael Marcus Jr. continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 24 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Tyree White, who scored seven points along with eight assists and eight rebounds.
Covenant Day's victory was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 16-6. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.2 points per game. As for Cannon, their defeat dropped their record down to 20-8.
Covenant Day won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Rabun Gap-Nacoochee at 2:30 p.m. on January 27th. Rabun Gap-Nacoochee will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in their respective state's rankings (they are ranked 240th in Georgia, while Covenant Day is ranked 22nd in North Carolina). As for Cannon, they won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Carmel Christian at 4:00 p.m. on January 27th. Carmel Christian has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 429 points over their last six matches.
