The Norte Vista Braves will face off against the Northview Vikings at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
With a playoff game on the line, Norte Vista rose to the challenge on Wednesday. They really took it to the Cubs for the full four quarters, racking up a 88-41 victory on the road. Norte Vista has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten matchups by 20 points or more this season.
Norte Vista's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Bryan Ramirez, who scored 20 points along with six rebounds and five assists. Ramirez has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last five times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Carter Fulton, who scored 24 points.
Meanwhile, Northview didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Western on Wednesday, but they still walked away with a 39-34 victory. Given Northview's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 406th, while Western is ranked 868th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Norte Vista's win bumped their record up to 15-10. As for Northview, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 20-9.
