Baseball Recap: Madison Snags Sixth Win in Last Seven Games

Madison won the last time they faced West Carroll and things went their way on Friday too. The Mustangs put the hurt on the War Eagles with a sharp 19-6 win. The Mustangs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight matches by six runs or more this season.

Nicolas Udovich made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with five RBI, two runs, and one double. Those five RBI gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Dylan Stranak was incredible, scoring five runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances. Madison is 8-1 when Stranak posts two or more runs, but 4-5-1 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Garrett Clark, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-4.

Madison always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .578. They are a perfect 7-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Madison has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 12-6-1 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.7 runs over those games. As for West Carroll, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-15.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Madison will challenge Riverside at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. The Mustangs will need to watch out since the Panthers have now posted at least ten runs in their last three games. As for West Carroll, they will face off against Halls at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
