This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to Kaegan Ash and Joel Otwell. Ash rushed for 136 yards and a pair of touchdowns while Otwell rushed for 88 yards and one TD. Ash's rushing production has been exceptional for a while as that marked his tenth straight game with at least 136 rushing yards dating back to last season.
Mt. Enterprise was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 259 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 201 rushing yards in eight consecutive matches dating back to last season.
On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Mt. Enterprise's defense and their five sacks. Ash was especially locked on to Carlisle's QB and sacked him three times. Joshua Bennett was another major factor on D, picking up a sack and making 14 total tackles (2.0 for loss) in addition to snagging an interception which he returned one-yard for a touchdown.
Despite the loss, Carlisle still got an impressive performance from Antonio Ibarra, who rushed for 107 yards and a pair of scores, and also threw for 159 yards on 17 of 24 attempts.
Looking ahead, Mt. Enterprise will face off against Alba-Golden at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Carlisle, they will take on Overton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
