Bartlett hasn't had much luck against Granger recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Bulldogs will look to defend their home field against the Lions at 6:00 p.m. Bartlett has given up an average of 16.5 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Bartlett is headed into Friday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 13th straight game dating back to last season on Tuesday. They came up short against Rosebud-Lott, falling 15-2.
Bartlett saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Marissa Brown, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.
Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Granger took on Rosebud-Lott on Friday. The Lions blew past the Cougars 14-4. The result was nothing new for the Lions, who have now won five contests by six runs or more so far this season.
Arianna Herrera spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and three unearned) runs on six hits and racked up six Ks. She has been consistent : she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Granger got a massive performance out of Marissa Hall, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-5. What's more, Hall posted two RBI, the most she's had since back in February. Rylinn Hamby was another key player, going 2-for-4 with four RBI, one triple, and one run.
Granger kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in seven consecutive matches.
The victory got Granger back to even at 7-7-1. As for Bartlett, their loss dropped their record down to 0-11.
Bartlett might still be hurting after the 9-0 defeat they got from Granger when the teams last played back in March. Will the Bulldogs have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other softball content.
