The Leslie Blackhawks will head out on the road to face off against the Columbia Central Golden Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Columbia Central took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Leslie, who comes in off a win.
Last Thursday, Leslie didn't have too much trouble with Springport on the road as they won 57-41. That's two games straight that Leslie has won by exactly 16 points.
Meanwhile, Columbia Central couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. The contest between Columbia Central and Blissfield wasn't particularly close, with Columbia Central falling 57-42. Columbia Central has not had much luck with Blissfield recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Hailey Freshcorn, who scored 12 points along with 3 steals. Another player making a difference was Cecelia Slatt, who scored 10 points.
The wins kept both teams' perfect 2-0 season records intact.
Leslie didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Columbia Central when the teams last played back in November of 2022, but they still walked away with a 42-36 win. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Columbia Central's Zoie Bamm, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 14 rebounds. Now that she won't be playing on Monday, will it be that much easier for Leslie to walk away with another win? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
